Whitney Mortimer is partner and chief marketer at IDEO, the celebrated global design and innovation firm. Named in 2015 as one of the Bay Area’s most influential women leaders by Business Insider, Whitney has led IDEO's marketing efforts since 1997. In that time, she has helped shape IDEO’s position as a thought leader in design-led innovation in a dynamic global marketplace. As partner and a member of the global leadership team and finance committee, she leads key communications, diversity and strategy initiatives.

In 2014 Whitney completed a fellowship with On The Board, a program sponsored by George Washington University and the International Women's Forum (IWF) to cultivate a pipeline of senior executive women for public board positions. She is a member of the IWF’s Northern California Chapter.

Whitney is passionate about bringing design-led innovation to the domains of environmental preservation and education. As an activist for environmental preservation, Whitney serves as a docent for several environmental programs in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2014, she earned her Master Birder certificate from the California Academy of Sciences and Golden Gate Audubon.

Ann is a dynamic and visionary Corporate Executive with over 25 years’ experience in a variety of service-based industries and is President of People Ink, her consulting company that helps organizations create unique workplace cultures based on values and performance. She held the position of Vice President of the People Department for Southwest Airlines and Executive Vice President of Team Services for Promus Hotel Corporation and most recently, the Executive Vice President of People for JetBlue Airways.

Ann has a respected reputation in the industry for her creative approach to creating customer-centric cultures and is a popular speaker on the subject of customer service and how to build a strong high-performing culture.

She has great passion for certain industries such as healthcare where she is making a great contribution to revitalizing the workforce and culture of our nation’s hospitals. She served on patient safety and quality task forces with the Texas Medical Institute of Technology involved in setting metrics used in pay-for-performance programs across the country.

Ann currently serves on the board at the Regis Corporation, NexPhase Capital, the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, President of the University of New Mexico Alumni Association Board, Chairman for Safer New Mexico Now, and Board member of New Mexico Appleseed. Ann’s former boards include JetBlue Airways, P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, HireVue, Inc., Restoration Hardware, Executive Council, Brigham & Women’s Hospital Harvard Medical School Board the University of New Mexico-Robert O Anderson School of Business National Advisory Board, Accion New Mexico and Albuquerque Community Foundation.

Ann has an MBA in Management from the University of New Mexico and her book Built on Values was released in January 2011.

Lynn Shapiro Snyder, Esq. is a Senior Member of the Health Care practice at the law firm of Epstein Becker & Green, P.C. where she serves on the firm’s Board and Finance Committee. She advises health care and life science company clients about federal, state and international health law issues, including Medicare, Medicaid, managed care issues as well as health care fraud defense and compliance. She served as lead health counsel in many transactions including the HCA buyout, Biomet and HCR ManorCare. She has been recognized as one of the "Most Powerful People in Healthcare.”

Lynn founded WBL in 2001 and has served on the organization’s board since its founding.

Lynn also is a board member of several other companies, including Trustmark Companies, an organization that provides life, medical, dental, managed care, wellness, disability, critical illness, accident insurance and benefits administration services, with revenues over $1 Billion. Lynn serves on Trustmark’s Audit and Compensation committees. Her other board memberships include Meals to Heal, LLC, the National Hospice Foundation, the Harvard School of Public Health’s Executive Council, and the Maryland/Israel Development Center that encourages trade, joint ventures, and investment between Maryland and Israeli business and research institutions.

Ms. Snyder has authored two books about serving on corporate boards. She was named a "Director to Watch” by Directors & Boards magazine.

Debbie Gregory DNP, RN, BSN, Clinical Innovation and Transformation, Senior Clinical Consultant, Smith, Seckman, Reid, Inc.

Dr. Debbie Gregory is a national leader in healthcare design, innovation, and transformation.  As a nurse executive and interior designer, Dr. Gregory is passionate about “Intentional Design” that aligns People, Place, and Process. She creates and transforms environments into functional ecosystems using complex systems science and strategic thinking. Dr. Gregory has Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Health Innovation and Leadership from the University of Minnesota and a bachelors in nursing from Vanderbilt University. Currently, she serves as Senior Clinical Consultant for the Technology Planning Group at Smith, Seckman, Reid, Inc., a national engineering firm. In today’s healthcare environment, clinical transformation and innovation are essential in navigating and reengineering the care delivery model of the future. She serves as a liaison and visionary between the clinical community, the design and construction community, and the IT/engineering community to interpret and enhance the clinical operations and functionality of the healthcare environment. She develops strategies for operational and financial improvements designed to advance clinical excellence, improve quality of care, patient experience, and overall patient outcomes. She is a frequent presenter at national conferences and has authored many articles in national publications. Dr. Gregory provides educational summits that bring healthcare leaders, technology experts, and visionaries together to discuss the future of the healthcare delivery model and the integration of technology. She is the co-founder and past president of the Nursing Institute for Healthcare Design (NIHD) and current President of the Nursing Institute for Healthcare Design Foundation. NIHD is an international not for profit organization created from a need, an idea, and a passion to engage and include clinicians at the design table to improve the healthcare environment. 

 

M. Chris Jacobs, Board Member, McKesson Corporation and Retired Chairman & CEO, Theragenics
Designing Your Career For Board Service and Adding Value Once You're There

Ms. Jacobs retired from Theragenics Corporation, a manufacturer of prostate cancer treatment devices and surgical products, in 2013, having served as its Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. She held the position of Chairman from 2007 to 2013, and previously from 1998 to 2005. She was Co-Chairman of the Board from 1997 to 1998 and was elected President in 1992 and Chief Executive Officer in 1993. Ms. Jacobs has been a director of the Company since January 1999. She is a member of the Compensation Committee and the Governance Committee.

Louise McDonald is healthcare professional with more than 30 years of global experience. She currently serves as the President for Healthcare, Government and Education & Executive Vice President for Herman Miller, Inc. a leading global furnishings firm inspiring design to help people do great things. Prior to this, Louise served as the Chief Marketing Officer for Welch Allyn, Inc. a global leader in medical diagnostic equipment and was President of Welch Allyn’s International business based in Dublin, Ireland. Louise currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Wall Family Enterprise, Madison WI and on the Executive Advisory Council of the Simon Business School, University of Rochester where she earned her MBA. She received her BSc from McGill University. She also recently served on the Advisory Panel of the Women’s Business Leaders in Healthcare (WBL) and is a charter member of the Professional Women in Healthcare (PWH).

Jaynelle F. Stichler, DNS, RN, EDAC, NEA-BC, FACHE, FAAN

Jaynelle F. Stichler is Professor Emerita of Nursing at San Diego State University, founding Co-Editor of HERD Journal, and an Academic Partner and Consultant for Research & Professional Development for Sharp Memorial Hospital and Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns in San Diego, CA.  She was previously the Vice-President for Women’s Services at Sharp HealthCare, Executive Director of the Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns, and Executive Director of her own consulting business, Stichler Consulting, LLC. Dr. Stichler is an active principal investigator in research studies focused on the effect of the health environment on patient, provider and organizational outcomes. 

Dr. Stichler has authored over 200 articles in peer reviewed journals and books and is a frequent presenter at national and international nursing and healthcare design conferences. She is the co-editor for Nurses as Leaders in Healthcare Design: A Resource for Nurses and Interprofessional Partners published by HermanMiller, Inc. in 2015, and an author of the leadership case studies in the book, Quantum Leadership by Porter-O’Grady and Malloch.

Dr. Stichler has a Doctorate of Nursing Science from University of San Diego and is a Fellow in both the American Academy of Nursing and the American College of Healthcare Executives. She is also a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, American Nurses’ Association, Association of California Nurse Leaders, Health Finance and Management Association, and the Center for Health Design. Dr. Stichler recently received the Changemaker Recognition Award at the HealthCare Design International Symposium in 2016.

Mary R. Grealy, President, Healthcare Leadership Council
Panel - The Future of Healthcare

Mary R. Grealy is president of the Healthcare Leadership Council, a coalition of chief executives of the nation’s leading health care companies and organizations. The HLC advocates consumer-centered health care reform, emphasizing the value of private sector innovation. It is the only health policy advocacy group that represents all sectors of the health care industry. She has led important initiatives on the uninsured, Medicare reform, improving patient safety and quality, protecting the privacy of patient medical information and reforming the medical liability laws. She testifies frequently before Congress and federal regulatory agencies.

Her previous roles include experience at the American Hospital Association and the Federation of American Hospitals. Ms. Grealy has a bachelor degree from Michigan State University and a law degree from Duquesne University.  She served on the Board of Directors of TEAMHealth, one of the largest providers of outsourced physician staffing solutions for hospitals in the United States, and the Board of Directors of Duquesne University.  She is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association.  She also serves on the advisory boards of the David A. Winston Health Policy Fellowship, Women Business Leaders in Health and the March of Dimes Public Policy Council.  
 

Denise Prince, MBA, MPH, SVP & COO, Population Health, Mount Sinai Health System

In her role as SVP and COO for Population Health, Denise leads Mount Sinai Health Partners’ Clinical Operations. Most recently, Denise served as System Vice President, Value-Based Care and Vice President, Population Health at Geisinger Health System. Denise co-led Geisinger’s participation in the CMS Innovation Center's Bundled Payment for Care Improvement Initiative and was the Chief Executive Officer for the Keystone ACO. In addition, she provided senior leadership to the Care Continuum Service Line with operational responsibility for walk-in clinics and post-acute services. Previously, Denise served as the Founder and Managing Partner for Geisinger Ventures. She was awarded an MBA and MPH from the University of California, Berkeley and her BA from Mount Holyoke College. Denise currently serves as an Advisory Board Member for the Women Business Leaders of the US Health Care Industry and for the Central PA Food Bank.

 

Allyson Y. Schwartz, President and CEO, Better Medicare Alliance

Panel - The Future of Healthcare

Allyson Y. Schwartz, President and CEO of the Better Medicare Alliance and a former member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Pennsylvania who served from 2005-2015, is a nationally recognized leader on health care issues. Better Medicare Alliance is the leading advocacy coalition supporting Medicare Advantage. Having worked as a health service executive, Schwartz was elected to the Pennsylvania State Senate in 1990, serving 14 years until her election to Congress. In the state Senate, Schwartz was the driving force behind Pennsylvania’s CHIP program, which was a model for the federal CHIP program five years later. In Congress, Schwartz was appointed to the Ways and Means Committee and served as a senior member of the Budget Committee. In both capacities, Schwartz was a strong advocate for Medicare. She was the leader in Congress on physician payment reform to encourage value over volume, supported research, innovation, and use of technology to improve quality, efficiency and contain costs. Schwartz is a Distinguished Policy Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania's Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics, Visiting Fellow at the Penn Wharton Public Policy Initiative and Co-Chair of the Bipartisan Policy Center Health and Housing Task Force.  

Pam Stegora Axberg, Senior Vice President, Operations, Optum

Pam Stegora Axberg currently serves as a Senior Vice President - Operation - Population Health Management at Optum.  In this role she leads clinical operations, both medical and behavioral, direct to payers, providers, government and commercial customers.    Prior to this, led the Behavioral Health operations and she advised the federal government (CMS) on the implementation of the Federally Facilitated Marketplace (healthcare.gov).   She has held a multitude of executive leadership operations and account management roles since joining United
Healthcare in 2005.  She successfully renegotiated two strategic partnerships which further solidified multi-year partnerships.
 
Prior to joining UnitedHealthcare, she spent 20 years at Qwest Communications/U S WEST where she was a Senior Vice President and Officer.  Pam currently serves on the Board of Directors for Girls Scouts of River Valley and previously served on the YWCA Minneapolis Board of Directors.  She is also a member of the WBL Advisory Board as well as the Board Development Committee for St. Catherine University. Other current Board Director roles include Topline Credit Union and Junior Achievement of the Upper Midwest.  Pam has received a variety of awards for her accomplishments including an Innovation Award at UnitedHealthcare.    

Pam is an entrepreneur, co-founder and owner of two small businesses.  She earned her BA in mathematics at St. Catherine University and her MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.

Barbara Stinnett is CEO and Managing Partner of Timmaron Group, a company she founded in 2008.  Barb works with companies of all sizes from startups to the Fortune 500 and has deep connections and experience in the investment community. Barb has built billion dollar high tech businesses for HP and Cisco and has a private equity background where she built, led and managed through exit two mid-cap software companies.  She is a partner in SOFIA fund, an early stage fund focused on women led technology companies, and has served on several boards including SMILE Network, American Multiplexer Corporation, Sum Total Systems, Altus 365, and the Bill Norris Foundation, a technology fund for emerging technologies.
